STUDENT LIFE

Enrichment Classes
At Prince of Peace Lutheran School, we offer a different Enrichment Class per day. These classes are intended to provide students with opportunities to explore and hone their talents in technology and the arts. Children are quicker to learn new subject matter than adults as their brains are still accepting information at a rapid pace as it develops. To ensure that all students gain a well-rounded education, Art, Music, Physical Education, Journalism/Computer and Spanish classes are provided to the students at no extra cost. These Enrichment Classes support personal, social and academic growth.
Art
Art education increases awareness of self (mind, body, and voice) and others (collaboration and empathy),
improves clarity and creativity in communication of verbal and nonverbal ideas and gives a
deeper understanding of human behavior, motivation, diversity, culture, and history. Art has the power to change the way we think and the way we understand the world around us. It can be used to express visual expression of the Christian faith. The power of art can bring faith to life as well as instill culture and appreciation for history.

Music

Spanish
When it comes to education, children process information in a variety of ways in order for it to make sense to them. They process information on levels that are different than adults and can be taught a variety of subjects. Learning to speak Spanish is no different as they will retain what they have learned with greater accuracy. Giving a child a head-start in today’s world by speaking Spanish can be beneficial in a number of ways. Learning to speak Spanish can help a child succeed throughout his or her life. The student could develop a talent for linguistic skills that could benefit learning other languages later on.
